Axis Infrastructure is currently seeking an electrical engineer to be based in the corporate office in Alpharetta, Georgia
.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Support the company with the design of complex electrical systems
  • Designing and drafting commercial electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution and building systems
  • Prepare 3- and 2-dimensional construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Prepare documents and calculations for the LEED certification process
  • Coordinate design efforts working closely with our in-house disciplines, architectural clients, and building owners
  • Verify and validate aspects of system designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements
  • Perform short circuit, overcurrent protective device coordination and arc flash studies
  • Perform lighting calculations
  • Perform contract administration duties of site visits, submittal review and contractor assistance

EXPERTISE REQUIRED TO EXCEL IN THIS POSITION:

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • 3 - 6 years' experience working on Lighting & Power Design
  • EIT or PE a plus; or able to obtain license within 12 - 15 months
  • Demonstrate proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience in the electrical consulting business, including power and lighting, a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as a strong team player
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a solid technical base with the desire to learn, lead, and grow into senior engineer or project management positions
  • Must prioritize effectively, have good follow-through, and practice self-implemented quality control measures

We are currently seeking a creative and talented Sr. Architect at our Alpharetta, GA office. The successful candidate will responsible for the cost-effective design of all required building construction documents. This includes leading a design team, oversight of third-party design contracts and coordination of structural, MEP, and civil staff.

Qualified candidates must possess:
  • Licensure (NCARB) in Georgia and Florida
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture required; Master of Architecture preferred
  • 10+ Years’ experience in the A/E/C industry, including interior construction, detailing and construction documents
  • Experience in space planning and finish selections
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit and Photoshop
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Brewery design experience is a plus
Duties of this position will include but not be limited to:
  • Attend site evaluation meetings with clients
  • Work with clients preparing programming and concept drawings
  • Prepare scale drawings of site, building layout and elevations
  • Consult with team to ensure design is fully aligned with construction budget
  • Consult with client/department to determine functional and spatial requirements of proposed project(s)
  • Coordinate documentation of any existing structures for renovation project
  • Represent client in obtaining bids and review awarding consultant contracts
  • Direct/manage project design team engaged in preparing related drawings and specification documents
  • Attend meetings related to the assigned project
  • Prepare information regarding design, structural specifications, materials, color, equipment, and estimated costs
  • Coordinate Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Structural, Civil Engineering and other assigned disciplines during design and construction phases

Seeking Planner Extraordinaire in the Sunshine State

Axis is seeking a Planner II/Associate Planner to work with our Florida Operations Group. This position requires professional planning work of moderate difficulty characterized by increasingly specialized knowledge of the planning field. The Planner II is expected to possess in-depth knowledge within one or more planning specialties such as economic development, comprehensive planning, GIS, or environmental planning. Preference will be given to those with experience in reviewing or preparing various types of applications for development. You must be able to work independently under the Director of Planning. The position will be based in Southwest Florida near the Fort Myers area, but the ideal candidate must be willing and able to serve clients state-wide.

FUNCTIONS:
  • Interprets and applies applicable state, county and local codes, ordinances and regulations
  • Initiates actions necessary to correct deficiencies or violations of regulations
  • Assists with updates and maintenance of Comprehensive Plan and land development regulations
  • Conducts review of various development applications including plats, permits, site plans, variance requests and rezonings
  • Conducts extensive research in specific or general project areas
  • Writes and presents formal and technical reports, working papers, and correspondence
  • Identifies community problems, issues, and opportunities in particular neighborhoods that could be mitigated through better community planning
  • Develops long range plans for communities with common developmental issues
  • Develops strategies to promote economic and community development or efficient land use consistent with community goals
  • Evaluates adequacy of community facilities in meeting current and projected needs
  • Recommends priorities, schedules, and funding sources to implement public improvements plan
  • Writes or assists in writing a variety of ordinances and regulations relating to development controls
  • Attends substantial number of evening and weekend meetings
KNOWLEDGE:
  • Well-developed knowledge of planning principles and practices
  • In-depth knowledge of one or more planning specializations, such as economic development, transportation planning, or environmental planning
  • Knowledge of principles, methodology, practices of research and data collection
  • Knowledge of effective writing techniques
  • Knowledge of or experience in community remediation and redevelopment, and knowledge of relevant Federal programs
  • Statistical, algebraic, or geometric knowledge and ability to apply such knowledge in practical situations
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software programs, which may include Microsoft Office, Internet applications, econometric or transportation modeling, database management, or GIS
SKILLS:
  • Oral communication and interpersonal skills to present research findings to various boards and committees
  • Creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information to solve less well-defined practical problems
  • Ability to review plans and apply provisions of the ordinances and codes to determine compliance with such regulations and to apply regulations to field conditions
  • Group facilitation skills for use with community workshops
  • Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment as needed
  • Ability to attend to details while keeping big-picture goals in mind
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The Planner II requires a master's degree with two years of experience in the planning profession or a bachelor's degree and four years of professional planning experience.
